Frequently asked questions
Getting a quote
How long does it take to get a quote?
For most products, an accepted application is scored and priced instantly. If your declared value is high or some details are missing, it may be routed to an underwriter for a quick manual review instead of an automatic quote.
Why was my application sent for manual review instead of an instant quote?
A small number of applications need a human look — usually a high declared value, missing certificate/serial number documentation, or a product-specific referral rule. You'll get an email once an underwriter has reviewed it.
Do I need a valuation report for high-value items?
Some products (for example, comprehensive motor cover) require an independent valuation before your final quote is issued. If yours does, you'll be guided to book an assessment with one of our panel valuers as part of the application.
Paying and your policy
How can I pay for my policy?
Card and M-Pesa are both supported at checkout. Your policy and certificate are issued automatically as soon as payment is confirmed.
How do I get my policy certificate?
Once your payment is confirmed, your certificate is generated automatically and available from your dashboard alongside a QR code anyone can scan to verify the policy is genuine.
Can I cancel my policy?
Yes, from the policy's detail page in your dashboard. Cancellation is immediate; contact us first if you're not sure whether cancelling is the right move for your situation.
What happens when my policy is close to expiring?
We flag policies approaching renewal in your dashboard and reach out ahead of the expiry date so cover doesn't lapse without you noticing.
Claims
How do I file a claim?
Open the policy in your dashboard and start a claim from there — describe the incident and upload any supporting evidence (photos, receipts, reports).
How do I track my claim's status?
Your dashboard shows every claim's current stage — submitted, in review, approved, settled, or rejected — along with any adjuster notes.
Trust & verification
How can someone else verify my policy is real?
Anyone can look up a policy number on our Verify a Policy page, or scan the QR code on your certificate — no account needed. It confirms the policy exists and its current status without disclosing your personal details.
